Nicholas is a professional concert pianist, who graduated from the Royal College of Music in London in 2012. What is remarkable about this (apart from the difficulty both of getting in to the Royal
College and of graduating) is that he did all of this while being born without his right hand.
In 2012, he became the only one-handed pianist to graduate from the RCM in its 130-year history. In March 2018 he was awarded honorary membership by its President, HRH King Charles.
After graduating in 2012, he joined the British ParaOrchestra and performed at the closing ceremony of the Paralympic games in London alongside Coldplay, in front of an audience of 86000 people, and half a billion viewers worldwide.
Since then, Nicholas has recorded two albums, and developed his career as a concert pianist, touring extensively around the globe. He also spends a great deal of time in the worlds of music education and corporate speaking, and has given three widely-watched TED talks.
Nicholas is also active in the world of radio, and in recent years, he has devised and presented a music program called ‘Wittgenstein, Zichy & Me’, for the BBC Radio 3. Previously, he had been a guest presenter for the BBC Proms and Leeds International Piano Competition on BBC 4.
