My guest today is Scott RICE. Scott is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and commercial director whose clients include Shell, Subway, MasterCard, Sears, and many others. His narrative work holds a staggering film festival record of 300 Official Selections and 85 Awards. His films have been distributed on many platforms, including Comedy Central, Hulu, Showtime, Blockbuster and PBS. Scott is also a professor at the U of Texas at Austin, where he’s been teaching screenwriting and film production since the year 2000. He also co-teaches a film course, called “From Script to Screen”, with the actor Matthew McConaughey. Scott has recently won an Emmy Award for the PBS series “Stories of the Mind” which focuses on the subject of mental health in America. Before beginning his career as a director, Scott spent 7 years working as an art director, digital artist and animator for Activision, where he was involved in the creation of many hit video games, including Soldier of Fortune.
